Cross Catholic Outreach Box of Joy--The Box of Joy program gives children in Central America a gift of hope during the Christmas Season. This program is sponsored by the Cross Catholic Outreach missions which has parishes throughout the developing world to bring the Gospel to the poor. A list of items requested for each box and the cardboard boxes can be found on the table at the front of the church. A cash donation of $9.00 is also requested to cover the shipping costs. Confirmation and First Communion--The parents of children preparing to receive the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation are requested to attend a meeting on Wednesday, October 5th. RELIGIOUS EDUCATION—St. Michael’s Parish religious education classes will begin on Sunday September 11th. All classes will be held in the school. Class time is from 10:00am to 11:00am each Sunday unless otherwise noted in the schedule. Registration forms and class schedules are available on the table at the church front entrance or on the church website under Ministries / Religious Education. Field Mass - Our Lady of Sorrows Feast Day--A special Field Mass and Rosary will commemorate the Church Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows. The services will be held Thursday, September 15th in the St. Mary’s Queen of Peace Cemetery, at 38888 Doctor Johnson Road in Helen/Mechanicsville, Maryland. (Located behind Mother Catherine Academy). The Rosary and Mass is offered for the deceased members of our community and the Church especially encourages people who have recently suffered a loss to participate. The Rosary and Mass will begin at 10:00 AM with Father Ryan I. Pineda, from St. Francis Xavier of Compton parish, as our celebrant. An enclosable tent will be erected for everyone’s comfort so the Mass will be held in the cemetery rain or shine.
