Chicken Dinner Sunday September 13, 2015 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM K of C Hall

Sunday TV Mass--Do you know someone who cannot get to Mass?
Please tell them about the Sunday TV Mass, which is produced by the Archdiocese of Washington and taped in the Crypt Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It is a wonderful ministry for those members of our Catholic family who are unable to be physically present with a local worshiping community for the Sunday Eucharistic Liturgy.
The Mass airs every Sunday at 10:30am on WDCW-50.

Young adults aged 18-39 are invited to a PAXCatholic small group series entitled "Fighting the 7 Deadly Sins."
This 7-week series, hosted by St. John's Parish in Hollywood, will take place on Sundays at 5pm starting on July 19.
We will talk about the 7 deadly sins and how to identify and fight them in our daily lives.

Brown Bag Auction for Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad
Saturday, August 29th at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Ridge.
Doors open at 12:00pm and auctions begin at 2:00pm.
Tickets $1.00 a piece, 6 for $5.00, 14 for $10.00, or an arms length for $20.
Food, drinks, and baked goods will be on sale.

St. John''s Parish in Hollywood is hosting a special event, "Marriage Matters: What the Church Really Teaches About Marriage",
on Thursday, September 17th at 6:30pm. The event will include a full Q&A session featuring experts from the Archdiocese of Washington.

Forget-Me-Not Brunch and Silent Auction

This fundraiser brunch will be held by the Care Blairs team for the Southern Maryland Walk to End Alzheimer's. The brunch will also feature a silent auction and a 50-50 raffle.

With the SMCM Campus Mass on hiatus for the summer, there will be a 7:30pm liturgy at IHM in Lexington Park beginning May 31st. This will run through the summer until late August thanks to a coordinated effort of guest priests. Mark your calendars and tell your friends!

St. Maria's Meals, Breakfast Distribution Program
Every Friday morning, volunteers serve a hot breakfast in the parking lot at the corner of University Boulevard and Piney Branch Road.
Volunteers set up the tables and tents, serve breakfast and help with clean up.
Catholic Charities is seeking committed groups of 5 to volunteer at different times throughout the year.

World Youth Day--St. Mary's Ryken High School students have the opportunity to go to World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland in July 2016. Students will follow the Footsteps of Saint Pope John Paul II, visiting his hometown and all of the places important in his life before becoming Pope. We will then welcome Pope Francis to Krakow and spend four days celebrating our rich Catholic faith with him and tens of thousands of catholic youth from all over the world.
This is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity and students will make memories that last a lifetime.
The cost of the trip in $4000.00 for round-trip airfare, four-star hotel accommodations, World Youth Day registration, tours, land transportation, and most meals. We plan to fundraise to make the cost more affordable.
