Chicken Dinner Sunday July 12, 2015 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM K of C Hall

Sunday TV Mass--Do you know someone who cannot get to Mass?
Please tell them about the Sunday TV Mass, which is produced by the Archdiocese of Washington and taped in the Crypt Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It is a wonderful ministry for those members of our Catholic family who are unable to be physically present with a local worshiping community for the Sunday Eucharistic Liturgy.
The Mass airs every Sunday at 10:30am on WDCW-50.

River Concert Series
July 10th, guest conductor Larry Vote with the music of Handel and the River Concert Series Choir.
Townhouse Greens beginning at 7:00pm.

Via Christi Youth Group Summer Switchover
Middle School youth group is switching to Mondays , from 5:00pm -7:00pm at IHM.
High School youth group (open to all rising 9th graders) will remain on Thursdays, 5:30pm, at St. Cecilia’s.

CASH BASH Tickets are now on sale for the 5th Annual Cash Bash scheduled for October 24th.
This year the grand prize is $100,000.
Mother Catherine Spalding is partnering with us, so please indicate St. Michael's on your tickets because our split is based on ticket sales.
Ticket sales are the difference between making $30K and $200,000, so please help us sell many, many tickets.
Again this year, buy three and get one free.
Early Bird: purchase a ticket by July 31st to be eligible for a special $10,000 drawing in October.

Small Groups in St. Mary's County
On Monday July 20th , 7:00pm at Father Andrew White School, St. Aloysius Church will host a planning meeting for anyone who is interested in expanding Small Groups (e.g., Bible Studies, Prayer Groups, Book Studies, Lecture Series, etc.) throughout parishes in St. Mary's County.
If you currently host some form of small group in your parish or home, we encourage you to attend to discover exciting new opportunities for growth and publicity!

Immaculate Heart of Mary
--Kevin Fields, IMH Summer Seminarian, will host a three-part faith formation series for adults and young adults. The series, "Lighting Our Kingdom in the Public Square",
will address how Church and State are distinct, yet inseparable.
Mark your calendars now for three Fridays July 10th, 17th, and 24th. The talks will take place at 7:00pm in the large classroom at IHM. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to discover how we can spread the Good News in our public lives.

CCD is looking for 5th & 8th grade teachers for next year.

Last Chance Mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary is coming back!
With the SMCM Campus Mass on hiatus for the summer, there will be a 7:30pm liturgy at IHM in Lexington Park beginning May 31st. This will run through the summer until late August thanks to a coordinated effort of guest priests. Mark your calendars and tell your friends!

St. Maria's Meals, Breakfast Distribution Program
Every Friday morning, volunteers serve a hot breakfast in the parking lot at the corner of University Boulevard and Piney Branch Road.
Volunteers set up the tables and tents, serve breakfast and help with clean up.
Catholic Charities is seeking committed groups of 5 to volunteer at different times throughout the year.

Sacred Heart Church in Bushwood is hosting their annual June Dinner
on Sunday, June 28th from noon until the food is gone.
Menu includes fried chicken, crabcakes, country ham, potato salad, cole slaw, green beans, beets, rolls, tea or coffee.
ALL YOU CAN EAT, served buffet style.
Adults $25.00 and children 12 and under $6.00.
Drive-thru carry-outs $25.00.

Camp Maria Retreat Center is sponsoring the Camp Maria Raffle--Tickets are $25 each,
first prize is $10, 000, Second prize $2,500 and Third prize is $500.
The drawing will be held on August 22, 2015.

World Youth Day--St. Mary's Ryken High School students have the opportunity to go to World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland in July 2016. Students will follow the Footsteps of Saint Pope John Paul II, visiting his hometown and all of the places important in his life before becoming Pope. We will then welcome Pope Francis to Krakow and spend four days celebrating our rich Catholic faith with him and tens of thousands of catholic youth from all over the world.
This is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity and students will make memories that last a lifetime.
The cost of the trip in $4000.00 for round-trip airfare, four-star hotel accommodations, World Youth Day registration, tours, land transportation, and most meals. We plan to fundraise to make the cost more affordable.
