Memorial Day at Catholic Cemeteries
During this Year of Mercy, "we are called to remember everyone, even those who no one remembers," says Pope Francis. "We remember those who sacrificed their lives to serve others. We especially entrust to the Lord, those who have left us during the past year."
On Memorial Day, come offer a spiritual work of mercy and pray in loving memory of family, friends, and fellow citizens who have given their lives for our freedom and now experience their destiny in the love of Christ.
Special outdoor Masses will be held at 10:00am on Monday, May 30th on the sacred ground of the Catholic cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Washington, including: Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Rd., Clinton, MD, (301) 868-5141

Memorial Mass for the Military Services
On Sunday, May 15th, the 22nd Annual Memorial Mass will be held to honor those who have served and are serving in our nation’s armed forces.
The Mass will take place at 12 noon in the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception (400 Michigan Ave., NE).
The principal celebrant and homilist will be Archbishop Timothy Broglio of the Archdiocese for the Military Services.
Military personnel are encouraged to be in uniform, and civilians should wear business attire.

Sunday TV Mass--Do you know someone who cannot get to Mass?
Please tell them about the Sunday TV Mass, which is produced by the Archdiocese of Washington and taped in the Crypt Church of the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. It is a wonderful ministry for those members of our Catholic family who are unable to be physically present with a local worshiping community for the Sunday Eucharistic Liturgy.
The Mass airs every Sunday at 10:30am on WDCW-50.

The Kalnasy Concert Series at St. Aloysius presents Belle Triste
a musical duo that features clarinetist, Anita Thomas and classical guitarist, Candice Mowbray.
All are invited to attend the concert on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 7:30 PM in the church.
On Saturday, April 30, from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM,
Dr. Mowbray and Ms. Thomas will also conduct a workshop for young musicians
(middle school, high school and college) and families and friends.
The concert and workshop will both be held at St. Aloysius, 22800 Washington Street, in Leonardtown, MD.
Both are free to the public.

New Altar Servers Practice--Interested in becoming an altar server or just need more practice?
Saturday, May 7th from noon-1:30pm;
Monday, May 9th and
Tuesday, May 10th from 5:30pm-7:00pm.
All altar servers are welcome to attend these practices.
To become an altar server you must have received your First Holy Communion.

Holy Hour for Vocations
will be held here on Saturday, June 4th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am as our men are preparing for ordination to the diaconate and priesthood.

The RidgeVolunteer Fire Department will be sponsoring the 2016 Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen's Association Convention and Parade April 30, 2016-May 1, 2016. Parade will happen on Sunday, May 1st on Route 5, in front of the Carnival Grounds in Ridge. Food will be served at the Carnival Grounds. Come out and support our Volunteer Fire Departments!

2016 Annual Jubilarian Mass
The annual Jubilarian Celebration of marriage honoring couples married 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, and 51 plus years will be held Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Cardinal Donald Wuerl will preside at the Mass.
Please call the parish office or use the sign up forms in the back of Church to register.
Names of jubilarians need to be turned in to the parish office by Monday, April 11.

St. Maria's Meals, Breakfast Distribution Program
Every Friday morning, volunteers serve a hot breakfast in the parking lot at the corner of University Boulevard and Piney Branch Road.
Volunteers set up the tables and tents, serve breakfast and help with clean up.
Catholic Charities is seeking committed groups of 5 to volunteer at different times throughout the year.

World Youth Day--St. Mary's Ryken High School students have the opportunity to go to World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland in July 2016. Students will follow the Footsteps of Saint Pope John Paul II, visiting his hometown and all of the places important in his life before becoming Pope. We will then welcome Pope Francis to Krakow and spend four days celebrating our rich Catholic faith with him and tens of thousands of catholic youth from all over the world.
This is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity and students will make memories that last a lifetime.
The cost of the trip in $4000.00 for round-trip airfare, four-star hotel accommodations, World Youth Day registration, tours, land transportation, and most meals. We plan to fundraise to make the cost more affordable.
